Research paper due dates for Regular English/New Grading Policy

ELA Grading Policy Addendum

This addendum is an overlay to the policies, procedures, and expectations outlined in the classroom teacher’s syllabus.

Because interim grades provide opportunities to redo work before the final grade is taken, there is not a reasonable time to make up or redo any assignment that has had interim grades leading to the final grade (i.e. group projects, presentations, process writing assignments, etc.).

If a student does not attempt an assignment, turn in an assignment, or submits a plagiarized assignment, there will not be an opportunity to redo the assignment.

For any assignment (daily or test) that receives a failing grade, the classroom teacher will establish a reasonable time and process for redoing that assignment.

·      Students will receive a maximum grade of a 70.

·      The minimum time frame for a redo is one evening so the assignment will be resubmitted the next school day.

·      The teacher may mandate tutoring as part of the redo process.
