Students may earn up to 100 extra points that will be added to grades from May 7th-May 21st. Again, they may earn up to 100 points. The 100 points is not a guarantee just because they have turned something in to me. It will be based on the quality of the project and whether or not they have met the guidelines.

A. PIECE OF ART
Identify a theme or character from a novel that we have studied this year(Things Fall Apart, Lord of the Flies, F451)
Collect THREE quotes about the chosen theme or character
Create a piece of art (painting on canvas, sculpture, etc.) to represent your theme or character *NO paper drawing, sketches, crayons, etc*
You will turn in:
Professional Art Work (canvas painting/sculpture)
Word document that contains the THREE quotes, and their interpretations
B. SOUNDTRACK
Identify FIVE themes from a novel we have studied this year
Collect TWO quotes that relate to EACH theme (TEN total)
Select TEN songs from at least THREE different genres (country, rock, reggae, etc) that examine each quote/theme IN THE CHORUS
You will turn in:
Word document that contains the TEN quotes, each quote identified with a theme, each quote labeled with a song title, song genre and song chorus lyrics (make sure that they are school appropriate)
All TEN songs on CD
C. RECREATE SCENE
Collect TEN significant quotes that portray the environment of the novel
Create a written description of the setting of your choice
You will turn in:
A scale model of the setting using some natural materials
Word document that contains ONE paragraph of your written description and the TEN quotes that describe the setting
. PLUS ONE paragraph describing the materials you used
